Studio on the Common
is a community space dedicated to creativity, connection, and art.
"Art has the role in education of helping children be like themselves, instead of more like everyone else."
Fall Art Programs are here!
I would add to this quote that engaging in artistic pursuits also helps adults reconnect with the creativity, confidence and curiosity of children. So it's good for all of us! To that end, we've got fall classes for everyone. For the kids, our Studio Art classes are chockerblock full with options for every type of artist. While we teach many skills in these classes, we also relish the chance to fan the passions of your children.
For our adults, how about Textile Dyeing as an art form with Japanese artist Kiyomi Yatsuhashi, or a class where you can take on a new or ongoing knitting/crocheting projects with the amazing Kirti Chandratreya. Our artist in residence, Jess would love to introduce you to all forms of art in our adult art exploration and brown bag classes. Add to that Pottery on the Wheel, Jewelry Making and Stained Glass, oh my! It's a bounty of classes and we're excited to begin. Hope you'll join us this Fall.
