Time: Noon - 6:00
(Scheduled to follow Grade Expectations if your child is attending)
We're looking forward to a fantastic week designed for Winchester Tweens. Studying is important but having creative, non-competitive activities to do with friends is equally important. We'll talk about ways to use art, yoga, mindfulness, and creativity to de-stress and enhance joy. Always wanted to try your hand at the pottery wheel? Now's your chance. Wonder what it would be like to design and paint a reclaimed window to hang in your room? We'll do it! Ever tried refinishing a piece of furniture and embellishing it with your own special flare. On it! Love yoga or wanting to try it out for the first time? We'll namaste away with Sharon Marama! And by the way, NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY in any of this.
Here’s a look at the week:
Monday: Clay sculpture and the pottery wheel
Tuesday: Reclaimed windows and furniture painting/refinishing
Wednesday: Ceramics glazing and prep for firing. Tee shirt design, silk screening
Thursday: Yoga and self-care with Sharon Marama, includes candle making and more
Friday: Yoga and empowerment workshop with Sharon Marama includes journal making, writing a manifesto and more!
We've timed this program to begin right after Winchester's McCall Grade Expectations program. Bring your lunch (or grab a lunch on your way) and join us in the studio for five great days of creating, connecting, and chilling. Our counselors are three Winchester High Graduates in their second year of college. They, and the Studio director, look forward to chilling and creating right along with you!
Sign up early as space will be limited.
