We are looking forward to meeting you at an upcoming class or event at the Studio on the Common or when visiting our gift shop. Our policies are designed to make things clear and easy in cases where classes may need to be cancelled, special circumstances are associated with an event and/or products may need to be returned or exchanged.
- Cancellations at least one week prior to the event receive a full refund (except summer programs*)
- Cancellations within one week of the event, receive a credit for a future event or series
- No full or partial refund or credit can be given for a participant's failure to attend any part of a program for which they are registered
* summer programs require cancellation by June 1st for refund
From time to time the Studio may need to cancel a class, or in the case of a series - a set of classes, if enrollments do not meet the required minimum. If that is the case we will notify students in advance and refund any deposits or payments accordingly.
While we will always try to have back-up teachers, it is possible that we may need to reschedule a class due to teacher illness. If this is the case we will make every attempt to reschedule at a time that works for most students - typically one week following the missing class (or last class if it is a series.)
Unfortunately in general we are not able to refund individual classes in a series if the class is held as planned but you or your child are unable to attend as we have already committed to our artist and purchased supplies. If a class is held at multiple times it may be possible to switch classes for a week but please contact the Studio in advance to see if that is a possibility and so we can adjust our numbers accordingly.
It is New England, so sometimes we have to cancel due to weather. Our policy is as follows. If the class is a daytime class and the Winchester Public Schools are closed, we will not hold the class and will offer a make-up typically by adding a session at the same time the next available week. If the class is an evening or weekend class, we will make a decision and notify all participants via email at least 4 hours before the event.
Some of our programs, particularly summer programs, require additional forms and information. Please download, fill out and drop off these forms no later than ONE WEEK prior to the start of the program. Or mail them to us at Studio on the Common, 22 Church Street, Winchester, MA 01890.
The Studio is a nut-free facility. Please do not bring in or send your children in with any food items that contain tree nuts or peanuts. Thank you! Some private events or special classes may be long enough that bringing in food, drink, or snacks makes sense. In those cases we'll encourage students to bring in their own food and drink keeping the nut-free requirement in mind.
In the gift shop our 15 day return policy is printed on our receipts. We will accept returns of merchandise and reimburse by the same payment method originally tendered as long as the product is in original condition, the return is within 15 days and you have a receipt (regular or gift.) Without a record of purchase details, product returns without receipt are at manager discretion and subject to the lowest price offered for the product in the store. If we are able to find your receipt in the system based on the date you shopped, we will certainly try to get the receipt for you! Our goal is to serve you so please feel free to ask for our help if you have lost your receipt.
